The Adıyaman Besni District Gendarmerie Command, also known as the Adıyaman Besni İlçe Jandarma Komutanlığı, operates under the Turkish Ministry of Interior and plays a key role in ensuring public safety and maintaining order across the Besni district. In addition to law enforcement duties, the unit is responsible for monitoring rural and intercity roads with high traffic volumes, responding swiftly to incidents, and enforcing traffic regulations. Given the dynamic nature of their work, the Gendarmerie depends on reliable, efficient technologies to support daily operations and field decision-making.

To strengthen vehicle monitoring and streamline license plate recognition, the Gendarmerie sought a solution that could be deployed without replacing their existing camera infrastructure. Many of the installed cameras lacked native LPR functionality, yet upgrading the hardware was not a viable option. The system needed to support the creation of multiple vehicle lists for proactive offender detection, maintain high recognition accuracy under varying weather and speed conditions, and deliver real-time alerts. Additional requirements included fast and user-friendly archive search, multi-operator access through a modern VMS interface, and the ability to integrate with external access control systems.

The implementation of TRASSIR’s intelligent license plate recognition system at Adıyaman Besni İlçe Jandarma Komutanlığı has greatly improved how the Gendarmerie manages traffic and monitors vehicles throughout the region. The system allowed them to activate advanced license plate recognition on their existing cameras without replacing hardware, providing accurate detection in all weather conditions while maintaining a cost-effective approach. Real-time alerts and easy-to-manage vehicle watchlists have made it simpler to identify target vehicles quickly, while the intuitive search tools within TRASSIR VMS have made investigating incidents faster and more convenient. Multiple operators can now work simultaneously in a modern, user-friendly interface, and the system’s compatibility with other access control equipment means the command can continue to expand its capabilities in the future.
