Bahçeşehir Gölet Park is one of the largest public parks in Başakşehir, Istanbul, Turkiye, covering more than 270,000 m². The park combines extensive green spaces, walking and cycling paths, fitness and sports facilities, playgrounds, event areas, and a central lake, attracting large numbers of visitors throughout the year.

As a popular recreational destination for families, children, and outdoor enthusiasts, the park requires continuous monitoring to ensure visitor safety across its expansive open areas, particularly around the waterfront.

Project background

While perimeter security remained an important requirement, the primary challenge was improving safety around the park's lake. The client needed an intelligent solution capable of detecting when visitors approached restricted waterside areas and automatically issuing warnings before dangerous situations could occur. Traditional monitoring relied heavily on security personnel, making rapid response difficult across such a large public space. The objective was to deploy an AI-powered video surveillance system that could both strengthen perimeter protection and proactively help prevent accidents around the lake.

Solution

TRASSIR deployed an intelligent surveillance solution designed to combine perimeter protection with proactive public safety monitoring.

The solution included:

    • 75 TRASSIR cameras (TR-D2223WDZIR7 v2 2.7–13.5)
    • TRASSIR NeuroStation 8800R/64 servers
    • TRASSIR Neuro Detector

Beyond perimeter protection, TRASSIR Neuro Detector was configured to monitor designated safety zones near the lake. When visitors approach restricted boundary lines, the system automatically detects the event, generates an alarm, and activates connected loudspeakers to broadcast safety announcements reminding visitors that swimming is prohibited and that children should not be left unattended near the water. This automated approach enables immediate intervention without requiring continuous operator involvement.

The project was implemented in collaboration with ZNA Teknoloji.

Results and impact

Following deployment, Bahçeşehir Gölet Park significantly strengthened both security and visitor safety. The AI-powered solution now helps security personnel respond more quickly to unauthorized perimeter access while also proactively reducing safety risks around the lake through automated voice warnings.
