Pazartürk Market is a large-scale semi-open marketplace located in Başakşehir, Istanbul, Türkiye. Designed to operate in all weather conditions, the facility features a steel-frame covered structure that protects visitors from rain, snow, and sun throughout the year. The market serves as an important retail and social hub for the local community, offering a wide range of amenities including food stalls, restaurants, cafés, children's play areas, prayer rooms, medical facilities, and family-oriented service zones.

A key operational feature of the site is its extensive parking infrastructure, with capacity for 1,100 vehicles, including 600 customer parking spaces, 500 vendor spaces, and dedicated parking areas for visitors with disabilities. The combination of high visitor volumes, vehicle traffic, and large open spaces creates unique security and operational management challenges.

Project background

Operating twice a week and attracting large numbers of visitors and vehicles, the market required a reliable surveillance solution capable of providing both perimeter protection and operational analytics.

One of the primary concerns was securing the site outside operating hours. Due to the size and layout of the facility, traditional monitoring approaches often create excessive false alarms and increase the workload for security personnel. At the same time, the market management sought better visibility into visitor attendance and vehicle traffic in order to improve operational planning and gain a clearer understanding of how the facility was being used.

The objective was to implement an intelligent video surveillance system capable of strengthening after-hours security while providing valuable data on visitor and vehicle flows.

Solution

TRASSIR deployed a large-scale video surveillance and analytics system built on a network of 192 TRASSIR TR-D2151IR v2 2.8 cameras connected to three NeuroStation 8800R/64 servers, ensuring reliable monitoring and recording across the entire market complex.

To address perimeter security requirements, the solution incorporates TRASSIR Neuro Detector, allowing operators to create customized detection zones, define individual response rules, and configure schedules for different areas of the site. This approach enables security monitoring to be adapted to the operational needs of the facility.

The deployment also includes TRASSIR Neuro Counter, which automatically counts visitors and vehicles moving through designated areas of the market. The solution provides automated reporting capabilities, allowing management teams to receive regular reports by email or export data for further analysis and dashboard creation.

The project was implemented in collaboration with TRASSIR partner ZNA Teknoloji, ensuring smooth deployment and reliable system performance.

Results and impact

Following implementation, the market achieved a significantly higher level of security, visibility, and operational control.
The use of Neuro Detector enabled reliable perimeter protection outside operating hours while reducing false alarms to approximately 1–2%, helping operators focus on genuine security events and minimizing unnecessary interventions.

Neuro Counter provided accurate statistics on visitor attendance and vehicle traffic, giving management access to valuable operational insights through automated reports and customizable dashboards.
