Vidya Pratishthan is an educational institution in Baramati, Maharashtra, India, with a broad focus on education, technology, and innovation. Its Sharadchandra Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI Building) is dedicated to advanced learning and research in artificial intelligence.
As a modern educational and research facility, the AI Building requires security infrastructure that can protect people, equipment, and sensitive areas while also providing useful information about how the facility is used.

Project background

Vidya Pratishthan wanted to move beyond conventional video surveillance and introduce intelligent analytics across its AI Building.
The project required a centralized platform capable of combining security monitoring with actionable information about people movement, occupancy, and activity across different areas of the facility.

Key requirements included more accurate intrusion detection, face recognition, people counting, movement analysis, and an intuitive way for security personnel to understand events across the building.

Solution

TRASSIR deployed a centralized intelligent video surveillance platform that combines video management with multiple AI-powered analytics modules.

The solution included:

    • TRASSIR VMS for centralized video monitoring, event management, forensic search, and archive access
    • Neuro Counter for people counting and occupancy analysis
    • Face Recognition for identifying individuals and supporting access and security monitoring
    • Heatmaps for visualizing movement patterns and traffic density
    • Neuro Detector for intelligent intrusion detection and more accurate event recognition

The unified TRASSIR environment allows security personnel to monitor the building from a central interface rather than relying on continuous manual observation of individual camera feeds.

Neuro Counter provides data on people movement and occupancy, while Heatmaps help visualize which areas experience higher levels of activity. Face Recognition adds another layer of identification, while Neuro Detector helps identify people entering restricted areas.

The project was implemented together with Faxonics Technologies Pvt Ltd.

Results and impact

The deployment transformed the building's surveillance infrastructure from conventional video monitoring into an intelligent platform capable of supporting both security and operational decision-making.

Security personnel can receive intelligent alerts, identify relevant events more quickly, and access video evidence through a centralized system. At the same time, people-counting and movement analytics provide additional visibility into how different areas of the facility are used.
