Improved fire safety at Chemo India
Client profile
Chemo India, a division of the Spanish multinational Insud Pharma, is a key player in the development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms (FDFs) for both human and veterinary use. With over 45 years of global expertise and a workforce of 9,000 professionals, Chemo operates under strict safety protocols, especially in high-risk material environments such as pharmaceutical warehouses.
Project background
Chemo’s warehouse facilities in India store highly flammable substances, making early fire and smoke detection essential to protect both assets and staff. As part of its local safety modernization initiative, the Indian division of Chemo reviewed proposals from multiple vendors offering video-based fire analytics. However, most solutions split responsibilities between software and hardware providers, raising concerns over integration, reliability, and long-term support.
Project solution
After an extensive evaluation process, TRASSIR India was chosen as the sole vendor capable of delivering a unified, end-to-end solution — combining both hardware and advanced analytics on a single platform. The TRASSIR India team led the deployment and testing on site, ensuring full alignment with Chemo’s technical and compliance requirements.
To meet the warehouse’s critical safety demands, TRASSIR deployed:
-
NeuroStation 8800R/160-A8-S
-
Neuro Fire & Smoke analytics modules
-
TRASSIR AnyIP licenses
-
Varifocal 2MP and 5MP surveillance cameras
The TRASSIR system now provides real-time detection of smoke and fire through intelligent video analytics, alerting staff immediately to potential hazards. The system supports rapid intervention, helping prevent escalation and safeguarding both personnel and stored materials.
Project results
With TRASSIR’s intelligent surveillance in place, Chemo India now benefits from:
- Early, AI-powered smoke and flame detection
- A fully integrated platform with hardware and analytics unified
- Reliable performance validated through testing
- Reduced false alarms and operational downtime
- Increased safety confidence for warehouse personnel
The solution also paves the way for future scalability — supporting Chemo India’s long-term safety roadmap and enabling easy expansion to other storage or production facilities.
