CASE: Safi Port relies on TRASSIR to maximize security

About the project
The construction of Derince Port in Derince/Kocaeli, Turkey, which started in 1900 by the Anatolian Baghdad Railway Company, was commissioned in 1904 and transferred to the Republic of Turkey State Railways Authority in 1953. The port continues to operate under the management of Safi Derince Uluslararası Liman İşletmeciliği A.Ş. within the framework of privatization.

Safi Port is moving forward with its development plans: operational area has increased from 450,000 square meters to 1.2 million square meters. It’s been announced that there is a plan to build a parking garage with a capacity of 1.5 million vehicles per year. With this rapid development and expansion, such a large area required a surveillance system that could detect potential threats around the clock.
TRASSIR has implemented the project for Safi Port together with our partner, LION TECHNOLOGY DIŞ TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ.

Video surveillance in the field
The main objective of the project was to use a convenient and modern VMS that allows to connect cameras of different brands. There is a large number of operators and TRASSIR VMS allows a detailed distribution of rights among them.

Project objectives
• Ensuring safety within the port territory and maintaining the perimeter security to guarantee safety of staff, ships and cargo;
• Installing video analytics that alert security to potentially critical events to intervene quickly;
• Providing access control at the checkpoints and license plate recognition system for the vehicles leaving and entering the sea port premises;
• Creating a deep archive that stores the evidence base for the investigation of controversial situations.

Project solution

• TRASSIR VMS;
• AnyIP Win64 - 500 cameras;
• Health Monitoring Script;
• TRASSIR Users Rights Report Script.

Project results
Installing and integrating TRASSIR VMS with the existing system helped to provide a single TRASSIR window for system control:
• The system for TRASSIR license plate recognition at the sea port entrances has significantly reduced the workload of security personnel;
• Perimeter security of the facility is provided 24/7. Any potentially critical events are detected by the system and generate alarms;
• TRASSIR VMS and analytical module installation helped automate security processes at the site and reduce security costs.
